Wood's Homes Alumni
Being a Wood's kid wasn't what many would have chosen... but we have heard from many who have expressed their appreciation that Wood's and its staff and teachers were there.
This section of our web site is devoted to the Alumni of Wood's (Christian) Homes, and there are thousands of them, including former staff, which have lived and worked at Wood's since its beginning in 1914.
Our data base is exceptionally incomplete in terms of Alumni so we are hoping to hear from as many of you as possible telling us where you are now, any anecdotes or stories you may remember from your time at Wood's, and if we can use your name and email address on the web site.
You can use our askus@woodshomes.ca email to provide information which will be kept entirely confidential unless you specify otherwise. Our hope is, however, to provide a listing which you can use to correspond with others who may have shared the same time period, and therefore the same experiences.
We know being a Wood's kid wasn't what many of you would have chosen when growing up, but we have heard from many who, in hindsight, have expressed their appreciation that Wood's and its staff and teachers were there.
In a short while, we will start adding photographs to the web site, some from our archives and some from former residents. We think this will provide a basis of interest, and probably spark some memories.
If anyone has photos from their time at Wood's, please contact us at askus@woodshomes.ca. We would love your memories to be included in this memorable album of 100 years.
