Clinical Coordinator

Scope of the Position:

Reporting to the assigned Director or their designate, the Clinical Co-ordinator is responsible for the clinical service quality and development of Eastside Family Services.

In addition, the Clinical Co-ordinator will collaborate and consult with Wood's Program Directors on the development of clinical services in other Wood's programs. The Clinical Co-ordinator will provide supervision and training to selected program clinicians / students as required and other clinically or educationally based responsibilities as required. This position is reviewed and appointed by the Directors. The incumbent is paid at the level of the Associate Director.

Key Responsibilities:

(a) In collaboration with Wood's Homes Program Directors, supports the training needs of Wood's Homes programs by facilitating the development of suitable training modules for the staff, the delivery of this training and the organization and selection of external training opportunities.
(b) Provides clinical consultation to Wood's programs on request and community professionals on request.
(c) Contributes to Knowledge House development and implementation.
(d) Facilitates the development of training modules and provides training, consultation and supervision regarding same.
(e) Assists in research, publication and other specialized projects as assigned.
(f) Provides program development consultation related to the EFC walk-in model to local, provincial and national mental health organizations.
(g) Supervises medical and nursing staff and develops nursing services in accordance with the needs of the organization.
(h) On-call responsibilities as assigned.
(i) Other duties as assigned.

Eastside Family Services:
(a) Oversees the clinical service quality of the EFC, including clinical supervision of select staff, community therapist and students.
(b) Provides consultation and support to CRT and the Home Connections programs on an as needed basis.
(c) Leads in the development and delivery of training to selected Wood's clinical staff and programs and community professionals through the EFS.
(d) Provides direct clinical service to clients of the EFC.
(e) In collaboration with the Director and Manager, determines the clinical service requirements and direction of the Eastside programs and the training required to support the staff in the delivery of quality clinical services.
(f) Participates in reporting professional development.

Required Competencies:

Masters level education in social work, psychology, nursing, child and youth care or related field.
- Considerable clinical, supervisory and program development experience.
- Is licensed in accordance with the Health Professions Act requirements and meets the core competencies of the particular profession.

Accountability:

Develops a business plan that reflects the activities outlined in the position description.
- Clinically sound decision making as it relates to Eastside Family Services.
- Provide quality clinical supervision to diverse groups of people as evidenced by written feedback from supervisors.
- Provide leadership in training and consultation to others as evidence by: numbers of programs receiving consultation and number of training sessions on diverse topics to Wood's programs.
- Timely reports, documentation in accordance with Wood's Homes policy.
- Supervisory management and oversight for Eastside Family Services.
