Wood's Homes Funding: Designated Funds
Field of Interest & Designated Endowment Funds
There are opportunities for individuals, families, friends, groups, foundations, and corporations to establish funds that are meaningful to them and focused on Wood's Homes cause. Many of these funds are narrowly focused, but collectively support a broad range of enhancements to Wood's programs for children and families.
The minimum gift to establish a fund with the Wood's Homes Foundation will normally be $5,000. The original donor or others can make donations to an existing fund in any amount. Endowment gifts will never be spent but annual grants will be made from the earnings on each fund. Annual grants will be at a maximum of 5% of the market value of the fund to protect the value of the fund and provide for annual grants in perpetuity. In unique circumstances, such as long term building projects, flow through funds may be established. Flow through funds will be spent in accordance with donor's wishes and project progression.
Field of Interest funds relate to work preparation, music, sports, academic achievement, or the like. Designated Endowment Funds provide grants for staff development, facilities enhancement, research, etc. as well as discretionary funds to be used in any service area of Wood's. Several designated fund gifts have been received and the corresponding funds established. As well, several donors have advised us of bequest provisions for designated and named endowments.
Wood's Homes has identified field of interest possibilities relating to key areas in the development of youth and children and designated fund opportunities that will support Wood's service delivery and program effectiveness for many years to come.
