Emergency Youth Shelter - Lethbridge

This 8 bed facility is located at 312 - 3rd Street South (lower level) and provides youth under the age of 18 with a bed, laundry facilities, showers, clothing and crisis counselling. Youth receive a hot meal at supper, breakfast and a bag lunch. There is 2 professional staff on duty at all times.

At the time of intake, staff connects with youth's guardian and/or the on-call duty worker to inform them of the youth's whereabouts. During their stay at the Shelter, youth will work with staff in finding a safe place to stay and connect them with appropriate community resources best suited to their needs. Staff will also work with the youth on job-finding, house-hunting, and other independent living skills that they may require.

Shelter hours are 6 PM to 8:30 AM daily, 365 days a year, with a maximum stay of 15 consecutive days. Referral sources can be from anyone, including the youth themselves. Referrals are accepted on a 24 hour basis.
