A Journey Through Our Wood's
Movie: Our history, our stories, our future
Wood's Foundation Mission:
To maintain sustainable funding to support vital services for children, youth, and families and create the long term financial stability essential to advance Wood's Homes profile in the community as a recognized leader ininnovative programming.
The Wood's Homes Foundation plays a key role in the strategic philanthropic investment in Wood's Homes. It seeks out and encourages individual and corporate donor support and stewards funds generated through careful investment practices and standards of accountability that contribute to donor confidence and satisfaction.
They're All Our Children
No child chooses the street. Should we give up on kids simply because they are angry, scary
and mean? Do we blame the kids for being in their unfortunate situations? Do we pretend they
do not exist?
The answer is clearly a resounding "no". Those who are broken poor, neglected, abandoned
or abused are our future as well. The choice we have is to decide if we are willing to see
these young people grow up to be broken, poor abused adults as well.
EXIT Outreach Appeal
The aim of the EXIT program at Wood's Homes is to reach youth who have been abandoned or
are at risk on the street. Through counselling and service referral, EXIT promotes the health
of young people while they exist on the streets and provides assistance when they choose to
leave the streets. The EXIT van brings these services directly to the youth on the streets -
on their "turf". These services include crisis counselling, basic needs, food, clothing and
personal hygiene items.
Calgary's youth need your help, not tomorrow but today, so please join us in saying "Yes,
they're are all our children" and forward your gift.
