How You Can Help

About the Wood's Homes Foundation

The Wood's Homes Foundation is a long term investment in the future of our youth, our families, and our community. The Foundation enhances Wood's long term financial stability while supporting the ongoing development and delivery of services to troubled and disadvantaged youth and their families.

Wood's Homes has benefited from a number of generous donations over its long history of serving children and families. Over the years a substantial capital resource accumulated and in 1990 Wood's Homes created an endowment fund to hold its long term investments and safeguard them as means of establishing a long term funding capability to support programs for children and families.

In June of 2000, the role of the Endowment Fund significantly expanded with its transition to become The Wood's Homes Foundation. The Foundation guides and implements funds development initiatives and is the source of charitable funding for Wood's Homes Programs.

The Wood's Homes Foundation plays a key role in the strategic philanthropic investment in Wood's Homes. It seeks out and encourages individual and corporate donor support and stewards funds generated through careful investment practices and standards of accountability that contribute to donor confidence and satisfaction.

The Foundation is responsible for managing funds held for endowment, and increasing the capital value by maximizing the return on investment consistent with prudent investment strategies. An endowment growth plan has been implemented to add a percentage of funds generated to capital each year. The Foundation is also responsible for managing funds raised on behalf of Wood's until they are transferred for operations.

The Wood's Homes Foundation is a registered charity and therefore charitable receipts can be issued for all contributions. Past contributions have included donations of cash, securities, mineral rights and bequests from estates.
