Philanthropy
Few things are more important to the future of our community than how we cultivate, facilitate, and celebrate philanthropy.
Few things will have a greater effect on the character and vitality of our community. Few things will shape the quality of life for our children and future generations as will what we give back to our community.
That's because philanthropy makes good things happen. Sometimes philanthropy involves partnerships with government. Sometimes it means pooling resources with corporations or foundations. Sometimes philanthropy is an independent effort manifested by the vision and generosity of a single donor or family.
As government downsizes, as mergers and acquisitions affect the attention corporate headquarters can give, we need philanthropists more than ever - the people who give back, who lead, who inspire us with their vision and generosity - prominent in our past - essential for our future.
We salute these givers. We encourage others to join their ranks.
